Dear Clark
As the work on our house moves inexorably to its end today, I am reflecting on how our maintenance project
has developed since its initiation.
I am pleased to see how clean and smart our house is now looking and what a difference in appearance the
work done by Hybrid has made. Please pass on our sincere thanks to all the workers in the Hybrid team who have come to work here at one point or another, for their goodwill and perseverance in completing a protracted and challenging job.
I would like to pass on my special thanks to Wayne for his innovative ideas and suggestions. Now that we are
almost finished that I realise how much of an impact Wayne’s thoughtful considerations and alternative ideas
have contributed towards the improvement of our house. He deserves our thanks for modernising our house, bringing it out from the 20th century into the 21st century. Wayne’s influence has become more and more apparent as the shell of our house transitioned progressively from an old, twisted and outdated one into a beautify stylish contemporary dwelling. The colour of the paint on the house is perfect and it was Wayne who gave it to us. The balustrades are beautiful and practical, the membrane in front of the garage is superior and the copper fixings outside the lounge windows look great, (I even took photos of Wayne’s diagrams of the boards above the copper because they looked precise, informative and diagrammatically appealing). These changes wouldn’t have happened without Wayne.
I am grateful for his recommendations and I want to humbly thank Wayne for guiding us through the multitude
of tricky situations when fixing problems that arose from a house that was never built properly in the first
place! I am happy that our house is now compliant. I recognise that the solutions adopted for our house wouldn’t have come about without his wealth of experience coming into play. He is to be commended for his
forbearance, patience and professionalism. I have appreciated his sense of humour in our dealings during his site visits. I have also noticed that he engenders a sense of happy camaraderie amongst the workers based on humour, which was great to see as not all companies are like this!

A poet named John Keats once wrote that “A thing of beauty is a joy forever: its loveliness
increases” and I believe that our house is now truly on its way to being a thing of beauty due to the transformation brought about by Hybrid. Thank you one and all for everything you’ve done to make our house
look gorgeous. We are looking forward to relaxing on our mid level deck, sipping wine and munching
on chips and dips, enjoying not only the views.

I am happy to recommend Hybrid Residential as a building contracting firm. Our company has been associated with Hybrid since 2005, where they undertook the remediation and alteration works for a number of our projects for single and multi-level dwellings.

Hybrid Residential was recommended to us by our architect. From our first meeting we could see that they cared about us as people rather than just customers. We tasked them with demolishing a third of our plaster house and then doing a total reclad and refurbishment as well as rebuilding the living spaces. The actual job threw up many challenges such as council processes and design hiccups, which they all solved valiantly.
Wayne and Clark managed their team well and looked after us well. We would use them again for sure.

We found the team extremely professional when quoting for the job – making sure we were comfortable with all of the information outlined in the quote. They were also was brilliant in making sure that we had the full picture so we knew what to expect and how long the job would take.

“Technically competent and advised us in clear, understandable terms”
We engaged Hybrid to address the problems created by the use of monolithic cladding and poor construction methods on our two storey family home.
We found Hybrid to be technically competent and able to advise us in clear understandable terms what was required to meet current Council building codes and the granting of a Code of Compliance and at the same time retain the aesthetic appeal of the house.
Hybrid took control of liaison with the Council and their independent inspection contractors. Hybrid’s obvious knowledge and expertise in the problems being addressed and council procedure smoothed the interface between the councils inspectors and the on-site builders.
We have no hesitation in recommending the Hybrid for any work of a similar nature.

On the recommendation of our architect we approached Hybrid Residential to undertake an apartment renovation in the Auckland CBD. This involved a complete demolition of the interior of an apartment and its rebuilding to a new and complex plan. The job was complicated by the continual need to adapt plans to the existing building and service structures that were only revealed as the demolition was undertaken. It was also necessary to work with complex fire and body corporate requirements, to handle access difficulties, deal with the issues involved in building in the CDB and solve the problems of getting materials and work completed during a building boom.
Hybrid Residential completed our job to a very high standard. An excellent and skilled builder was assigned to our job. The project manager, builder and trades worked well with us and our architect in finding solutions to problems as they arose. Hybrid and our builder were willing to let us complete some tasks ourselves, enabling us to feel more involved in the project. We were also impressed with the quality of the subcontractors Hybrid used and the effort that was made to keep costs under control.
Our project was completed to a very high standard and we are now enjoying the results. We recommend Hybrid Residential without reservation, and would certainly seek to use them if we were building again.

We have recently had considerable work done on our home in Royal Oak. It was a leaky home with monolithic cladding. When you have a situation such as this and make the decision to rectify the problem, where do you start?
Our chosen Architect, Paul Clements & Associates chose Hybrid Residential, Master Builders, to do the work required. Right from the outset at the first meeting with Dale and Clark, we felt comfortable with the company and its owners. (Being totally NZ owned was also important to us.) When we met with Aaron, our builder we were convinced a good decision had been made. Regular meetings with all involved parties were a big part in keeping us up to play through the building process. The house being shrink wrapped meant no down time. We were able to live on site during the build and at no time were we made to feel uncomfortable or uneasy. The build was of the highest standard and at all times the Builder and sub contractors were professional and the site was left mess free every night. The finishing was superb under the watchful eye of the Architect. We were extremely happy with the sub contractors chosen and their standard of work. (Love the kitchen and the wooden flooring!)
We found Hybrid Residential and its employees considerate and professional at all times and a pleasure to deal with.

This is to record our appreciation of the work carried out on our home by Hybrid Residential. Right from the time of our first contact with Hybrid, when you visited to assess the work proposed, to the completion of the job, we have been very impressed by Hybrid’s team and its chosen sub-contractors.
Your estimate of the likely cost was particularly helpful in our financial planning before tenders were called for.
In our particular circumstances, we chose to use an architect who specialised in the type of project we were considering, to control the submission of plans to Council, call for tenders, deal with Council queries, and revision of documentation as it occurred.
We were impressed by the organisational structure of Hybrid with its Office, and Projects Manager Wayne Ogier, who ensured suppliers supplied to site on time. Wayne ably assisted in the overall support management.
Site foreman Aaron Pennycook did great work for us. His day to day skill in organising carpenters and sub-contractors on the site was well thought out and supervised. His skilful work on a secret nailed tongue and groove cedar ceiling was the work of a true craftsman.
Hybrid worked to a detailed programme and completed the project on time. Any additional costs to the contract price arose through alterations that we had previously agreed with.
Our architect controlled the project and right through the four months, we had fortnightly minuted site meetings that we sat in on and therefore kept in touch with progress and forward planning.
In our particular situation, we were able to continue to live in our home, occupying one level of the house that was unaffected by the alterations and additions.
We were overall very impressed with Hybrid Residential and its people and happily recommend them.
